Former Hastings resident Zachary Paul “Zach” Rodriguez, 36, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024, in South Sioux City, NE.

 

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 10, and Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 11, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Hastings with Father Jeremy Hazuka and Father Alec Sasse officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday, October 11, at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in rural Hastings. The family will greet relatives and friends one hour before the rosary at the church. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Zachary was born May 22, 1988, in Lawrence, KS to Paul and Andrea Rodriguez. He was baptized at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lawrence, KS. Zach graduated from Hastings Senior High School in 2006. He then graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in psychology. He had subsequent employment in social services and restaurants. Zach enjoyed drawing, photography, and cooking. He was a tender soul with a kind heart that always lent a hand to others. Zachary will be greatly missed.

 

Zachary is survived by his parents, Paul and Andrea; siblings, Alexandra, Luke, Anna, Maximilian, and Gianna; grandparents, Paul and Nancy Rodriguez, Peggy Rodriguez, Leon and Sue McKedy; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
