Train derails near Gibbon

According to a Union Pacific spokesperson, a train derailed on the eastern edge of Gibbon, near the intersection of Highway 30 and Pawnee Road.

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - According to a Union Pacific spokesperson, a train derailed on the eastern edge of Gibbon, near the intersection of Highway 30 and Pawnee Road.

The derailment happened around 2 a.m. Sunday and approximately 15 cars were impacted.

No one was injured, and cleanup efforts continue into Monday.

The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Department responded and an investigation as to what caused the derailment is underway.
