Grand Island Police: man arrested after threatening to kill a man with a knife

A central Nebraska man is in jail after police say he threatened to kill a man with a knife.<br/><br/>

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. - A central Nebraska man is in jail after police said he threatened to kill a man with a knife.

According to Grand Island Police, officers responded to an incident in which two men were fighting and one of them was threatening the other with a knife.

Officers identified Othman Mohamad as the man with the knife. A news release said police repeatedly told Mohamad to back away, but he failed to obey orders. 

According to police, the dispute was about who owned a cell phone. Officers arrested Mohamad and didn't find a weapon when they searched him.

He is booked in the Hall County Detention Center on charges including terroristic threats, obstructing an officer and a weapons violation.
