GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — A Grand Island woman is behind bars after police say she planned to kill people at a pharmacy.

Workers at the 4th St. U-Save Pharmacy in Grand Island told police that Hodan Farah called on Friday afternoon and told a worker she planned to choke her until she dies. A suicide hotline also notified police that it received a call about Farah being homicidal and suicidal.

A news release says Farah arrived at the pharmacy around 5:35, exited her vehicle with a knife in her hand and attempted to enter the pharmacy. Officers had locked the doors for safety. Police say Farah refused to drop the knife and got back into her car. Officers broke the driver’s window, removed her from the vehicle and arrested her.

Farah faces 12 charges including two counts of attempted first-degree murder.
