KEARNEY, Neb. — Authorities in Central Nebraska are investigating a crash that claimed the life of one man early Friday morning.

It happened around 5:40 west of Kearney. The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office says the man was driving south on Cottonmill Road just south of Cottonmill Park. According to a news release, his vehicle left the road, rolled and ejected the man. He died at the scene.

The release says authorities are working to confirm the identity of the driver. The county attorney ordered an autopsy and the investigation is ongoing.

Assisting deputies at the scene were members of the Kearney Police Department, Kearney / Buffalo County FAIT team, KVFD, GSH Paramedics, Buffalo County Highway Department and Buffalo County Attorney’s Office.
