KEARNEY, Neb. — A Kearney elementary school is getting a donation to buy technology thanks to an area farmer and a global foundation.

Kearney Public Schools announced Wednesday that Emerson Elementary will receive $5,000 from the Bayer Fund’s America’s Farmers Grow Communities program. The donation was directed by local farmer Jeremy Schulte.

Emerson will use the money to buy five Airtames, eight iPads, eight iPad cases and three iPad stylist pens.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Jeremy Schulte and the Bayer Fund America's Farmers Grow Communities for the generous monetary donation towards advancing technology in our classrooms”, said Meredith Johnson, Emerson Elementary Principal. “Your support is paving the way for enhanced learning experiences, empowering our dedicated teachers with the tools they need to inspire and educate our students.”

The school received the same donation from Bayer Fund and Schulte in 2022. That year, it used the money to purchase fitness equipment, technology, and STEM materials.
