GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- A central Nebraska nonprofit is continuing its outreach in the community by partnering with a Nebraska business.

Crossroads Mission Avenue, which operates homeless shelters in the Tri-Cities, announced a corporate partnership with Levander’s Auto Body on Wednesday.

Levander’s will display a plaque in each of its 15 Nebraska locations. The plaque will contain information about the partnership and a QR code that will direct them to the nonprofit’s site.

Levander’s owner Brian Levander and Crossroads Executive Director Daniel Buller said it will benefit the community.

“I don’t believe that you can have a healthy business without healthy communities, and the homeless problem is across Nebraska. And so, by supporting this, we can make healthy communities which make for good business, and a good place to live and work,” said Levander.

“When you consider the impact that somewhere around 1,300 people called Crossroads home in 2023. That’s really the exposure that we want to bring to the communities. Number one, to be able to realize that there is a problem of homelessness here in central Nebraska,” said Buller.

Crossroads offers services to homeless people including short-term stay, transitional living and long-term housing in Hastings, Grand Island and Kearney. The nonprofit also has thrift stores in Broken Bow, Holdredge, Lexington, Grand Island, Hastings and Kearney. It is working on starting a shelter in Lexington.
