Grand Island teacher wins $500 donation to Seedling Mile Elementary via Stretch Across Nebraska

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — The newest Stretch Across Nebraska winner comes from Central Nebraska.
Amy Penny of Grand Island submitted her photo, titled Let’s Walk!, of her two kids going on a walk with their new puppy, a cockapoo named Dusty. She included the caption, “I’m not sure who is leading, but when you all get to enjoy the fresh air, does it really matter?”
By winning the contest, Penny was able to select a school to receive a $500 donation. As a teacher at Seedling Mile Elementary in Grand Island, she had an easy choice.
“We’re a small school, so we appreciate all the funds that we get,” Penny said.

News Channel Nebraska and Medica are encouraging good health and well-being across the state and invite you to Stretch Across Nebraska.
Send us a video or photo of your healthy activity and you could win big for your community.
People of all ages are welcome to submit! Your morning stretch, kids on the playground, seniors in an exercise class, walking your dog, the more creative the better! Once a week, we’ll pick a winning submission to highlight, and that person will have a donation made, in their name, of $500 to the school of their choice!
