HASTINGS, Neb. — People in Central Nebraska have an opportunity to get paid for their old toys.

Jeff Schriefer is a Roadshow Manager for The Toy Scout and has been in Hastings since Tuesday. He is set up at the Hampton Inn through 5:30 Thursday and is evaluating and buying collectibles. He says many people are surprised to find out how much their favorite old toys are worth.

“Well, it’s nostalgia. Nostalgia is a big part of it," Schriefer said. "When a certain person reaches middle age, something like that, they’re like, ‘oh these were so cool when I was a kid.’ They were interested in them and now they want to get them back.”

Schriefer is buying toys and comics from the 1980s or older, coins that are older than 1964 and baseball cards from before 1974. The Toy Scout business will then resell the items online for a profit.

Schriefer will be at the Hampton Inn from 9:30-5:30 on Thursday. For more info, call 561-628-1990 or visit the Toy Scout website
