Single-vehicle accident north of Kearney claims one life
KEARNEY, Neb. -- A woman is dead after a single-vehicle accident in central Nebraska.
According to Kearney County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the scene on Wednesday morning near the intersection of County Road R and 31 Road, about six miles north of Minden.
A news release said a 29-year-old man from Minden lost control of his vehicle and struck a utility pole. His passenger, a 41-year-old woman, died in the crash.
Police said that seat belts were in use and that the 29-year-old was transported to a hospital in Kearney.
The names haven’t been released until next of kin have been notified.
The accident is still under investigation.
