PLAINVIEW - Revenge is a dish best served cold, and on a chilly night in Plainview, Elkhorn Valley avenged their loss to the Pirates from 3 weeks ago with a resounding 36–8 Falcons victory.

The EV Defense ruled the night with seven turnovers — 3 interceptions and 4 fumble recoveries — as they held an offense that averaged 44 points on the season to a meager 8.

On the offensive side, Falcons QB Mason Nitz tossed 2 TDs and ran for another, while the gutsy Maverick Hagemann powered through an injury to tally 126 yards on 31 carries and a score.

Both teams took hard knocks, as Plainview QB Gage Walton was sidelined with an injury, and backup Karter Lingenfelter played admirably, throwing for the Pirates’ only score to Spencer Hille in the 3rd quarter.

Trevis Halsey and Dawson Hansen also notched TDs for Elkhorn Valley as the Falcons won going away.

Plainview’s season ends at 9–1, while Elkhorn Valley (8-2) hosts Crofton next week in the quarterfinals.
