One person killed in two-vehicle accident in Howard County
ST. PAUL, Neb. -- Authorities said they are investigating a two-vehicle accident that killed one person in Howard County on Wednesday.
The Howard County Sheriff's Office said they got the call for a two-vehicle accident around 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of NE-Highway 92 and NE-Highway 11.
When law enforcement arrived, they said the initial investigation determined that a Ram Promaster City was driving south and failed to stop at a stop sign. They then hit a Jeep Cherokee that was driving east.
Both vehicles, according to the Sheriff's Office, came to a rest in the southeast ditch, where the Jeep came to a rest on a tree after flipping.
The driver of the Ram, a man, was taken to a local medical center, and the woman driver of the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Howard County Sheriff's Office turned the accident over to the Nebraska State Patrol for further investigation and accident reconstruction.
Howard County Sheriff's Office said they were assisted by the St. Paul, Elba, and Danneborg Fire and Rescue, as well as the NSP and Nebraska Department of Roads.
