COZAD, Neb. – A central Nebraska community celebrated Fathers Day weekend at the airport.

Platte Valley Tailwinds organized Cozad’s first-ever Hot Air Balloon Festival, with the three-day event held at the Cozad Municipal Airport.

The event kicked off Friday with a sit-down steak dinner and live music from the ‘50s, ‘60s, and 70′s era, as well as a cruise night and cookout for car show participants, and a balloon glow at dusk.

Saturday festivities included a kite display, a car show, an airplane fly-in and more.

Balloon flights and a Sunday brunch concluded the event.
