Boy's state golf begins Tuesday across state

COLUMBUS, Neb. - All four classifications begin the boy's state golf championships Tuesday across four separate locations. Players are set to tee off at 9 a.m. in their four-player pairings for the two-day event.
In Class C, Syracuse--coached by Micah Buller--qualified for state as a team after shooting a combined 353 at districts. Senior Robert Shanks led the way shooting an 84 at Hidden Valley Golf Course in Lincoln last week. He will be joined at Elks Country Club in Columbus by teammates Logan Zoller (86), Cody Damme (89), Logan Johnson (94) and Gabriel Dilley (94).
Also, in Class C competing for Palmyra is Noah Carpenter. Carpenter shot a district-best 70 in the C-1 district last week and brings to state the second lowest qualifying score. Carpenter is looking to defend his 2022 state championship that he won after a three-hole playoff over Cael Peters of Mitchell.
In Class D, Elmwood-Murdock qualified as team coming out of last week's D-1 district at Indianhead. Easton Miller finished in the top 10 with an 83. Class D will be teeing off from Lake Maloney Golf Club in North Platte.
