Kearney Police looking for two suspects involved in early-morning armed robbery
KEARNEY, Neb. — Kearney Police are looking for two suspects after an early morning armed robbery.
A news release says officers responded to the robbery call around 2:30 Thursday morning in the 1700 block of Avenue E. The victim told police he was robbed inside his home at gunpoint and assaulted by two men, one Black and one white. The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The release says the suspects took personal items from the home and left. Investigators believe the people involved know each other and it wasn’t a random incident.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Kearney Police Department or Buffalo County Crimestoppers.
The armed robbery is part of an alarming spike in violent crime over the past week in Kearney. It follows three separate reports of shootings near the University of Nebraska-Kearney campus. Police didn’t specify if they think the robbery is related, but happened on the other side of town from the shootings.
