Hastings considering city hall changes, looking for public input

City leaders in Hastings are seeking input from the public on possible changes to city hall.

HASTINGS, Neb. — City leaders in Hastings are seeking input from the public on possible changes to city hall.

A news release says the city is looking at renovating the current city hall building or moving to a new building. Townhall meetings are scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Saturday, March 4 and 6:00 p.m. Monday, March 6. Each event will start with a tour of city hall followed by a discussion in the council chambers. Locals will also have the chance to give input via a survey, which will open on March 7 and remain open for two weeks.

New City Administrator Shawn Metcalf is chair of the seven-person city hall committee. After getting public input, the committee will present options to the city council.
