Local talent headlines Hastings College football’s 26-man class

HASTINGS, NE — Three Hastings St. Cecilia players are among the 26 to sign letters of intent to play football at Hastings College on Wednesday.
Quarterback Carson Kudlacek, wide receiver Cooper Butler and defensive lineman Jayden Lagunas are each staying in Hastings to play college football after standout careers as Bluehawks. Players from nearby Grand Island, Sandy Creek and Sutton also signed with the Broncos.
Head Coach Matt Franzen signed 18 players from Nebraska compared to eight from out of the state. Four players are from Arizona.
The class is heavy on offensive players, especially at the skill positions. The Broncos added four quarterbacks, seven wide receivers and three running backs. Only six of the 26 signees are listed as defensive players.
Hastings College is coming off a resurgent season in which it finished 7-4.
