HASTINGS, NE — A Hastings non-profit that promotes outdoor education is looking for a new executive director.

Prairie Loft announced Thursday that Amy Sandeen’s last day is December 16. She is leaving to be the Outreach and Special Events Manager with the Crane Trust.

Sandeen started at Prairie Loft when programs began in 2007. Under her leadership, the non-profit hosted more than 92,000 visitors, transformed an abandoned property into a hub for farm-based learning, and hosted 15 editions of the Flatwater Music Festival.

“Prairie Loft has been enriched by Amy’s fifteen years of leadership, vision, and creativity," Board Co-Chairs Jan Herbek and Sarah Hoops said. "The Board of Directors admires Amy for her dedicated service and unwavering passion for Prairie Loft’s mission.”

The Board of Directors says it will name an interim director and spend several months finding its next executive director.
