Several central Nebraska teams will be competing in the high school football playoffs. Kearney and Grand Island will both host first-round games in the Class A playoffs. If they both win, they would meet up in the quarterfinals.

Northwest made the playoffs in Class B for the eighth-straight year. The #13 Vikings will face #4 Elkhorn on the road.

In Class C-1, Aurora is the top seed after posting an undefeated season. The Huskies are back in Class C-1 after finishing as runners up in Class B the past two seasons. Minden is the 12-seed and back in the playoffs for the first time since 2013. Broken Bow is the 14-seed, Adams Central is the six-seed and Central City is the 15-seed, ending a three-year playoff drought.

Undefeated Hastings St. Cecilia is the number one seed in Class C-2. The Bluehawks are hoping to win their first state title since 2010. Fillmore Central is the 10-seed and is looking to win its first playoff game since 2006.

In six-man football, Sumner-Eddyville-Miller is the top seed after the Mustangs turned in an undefeated season. Shelton is the eight-seed following its loss to SEM in the regular-season finale.
