COLUMBUS, NE — A Nebraska man is set to appear in court on accusations he sexually assaulted a girl starting when she was seven years old.

Police arrested 39-year-old Christopher Dupree of Columbus in late September and the county attorney charged him with first degree sexual of a child. Court documents say Dupree told his doctor and then told police that he abused his girlfriend’s daughter multiple times until she asked him to stop when she turned 11 years old.

After Dupree’s statements, a detective interviewed the alleged victim. The girl told police Dupree touched her inappropriately and subjected her to sexual penetration.

The charge relates to Dupree’s actions in Platte County over a six-month period from late 2018 to early 2019. If convicted, he could face up to life in prison. His first appearance in county court is scheduled for Tuesday morning.
