GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- Authorities in central Nebraska are seeking additional felony charges for an 18-year-old who was arrested last month for sex trafficking and inappropriate images of minors.

The Grand Island Police Department said that 18-year-old Israel Trautman of Grand Island was arrested on June 1, 2022, in relation to a case of human sex trafficking of a minor and visual depiction of explicit conduct in relation to receiving or soliciting images of a minor.

GIPD said that after the arrest a search warrant was obtained for Trautman's residence including electronic devices.

Authorities said that after the device investigation, the GIPD's Cyber Investigator obtained evidence that lead to the belief that Trautman solicited or received photos from 11 other minor victims.

The investigator also believed that he extorted those victims into sharing additional images, illegally shared those images, and threatened some participants into conducting additional illegal explicit acts.

GIPD said that they have requested the additional charges:

  • one count of felony human sex trafficking
  • 31 counts of felony sexually explicit conduct
  • 112 counts of felony visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct
  • one count of felony first-degree sexual assault
  • nine counts of felony human sex trafficking of a minor
