HASTINGS, Neb. -- Fire departments from all of Adams County as well as Doniphan and Glenvil were on the scene of a late-night fire at a landmark implement in Hastings.
The call came in late Wednesday for a fire at the John Deere Dealership.
Adams County Emergency Manager Ron Pughes said when firefighters responded to the scene they found the shop and work area engulfed. He said the smoke was so thick that first responders couldn't see their hands in front of their faces while trying to attack this fire.
The fire was put out around 3:00 a.m. Thursday, but crews were expected to be at the scene for much of the morning monitoring hot spots.
There's been no word on a cause of the blaze as of yet.
