FAIRBURY -   A local blood bank says their supplies are extremely low.  2 weeks ago, Nebraska Community Blood Bank announced a blood emergency, noting the most critical needs are type O, Rh negative and platelets. NCBB say their general blood supply currently stands at a 2-to-3-day level, with type O and platelets at just a 1-to-2-day level. They say that is well below their ideal inventory of 5-7 days.

Nebraska Community Blood Bank is holding a blood drive on Monday, June 13th from 9 to 2 p.m. om the mobile unit in the parking lot for the former JCHL Fairbury Clinic on 22nd street.  All blood types are needed.  As an incentive for donating, everyone donor in June will have a chance to win a full-service suite at a Lincoln Saltdogs home game.

Nebraska Community Bloodbank is Jefferson Community Health & Life’s blood supplier, and the two organizations partner for blood drives in Fairbury to save lives.  Appointments are recommended. To make an appointment, call JCH&L Outpatient Services at 402-729-6851, or visit NCBB.org/searchdrives and use sponsor code JCHC.
