GRAND ISLAND, NE — The city of Grand Island is going mobile to try to improve engagement with its citizens.

The city launched the Grand Island Connect app on Friday. The free application allows residents to submit service requests from their smartphones. Users can provide multiple photos when submitting a request, track requests, send messages to city hall staff and access Frequently Asked Questions.

In addition to the request function, the app also provides quick links to the city website, employment opportunities, street closures, public transit, the city calendar, utilities and more.

The Grand Island Connect app can be downloaded in the Apple App Store and the Google Play store.
