KEARNEY, NE - Two Nebraska CHI Health facilities are paying tribute to organ and tissue donors during National Donate Life month.

CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island and CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney will both hold flag-raising ceremonies this week. Hospital staff will raise the "Donate Life" flag, give remarks, and offer a prayer during the ceremonies. St. Francis will raise the flag at noon on Tuesday and Good Samaritan will raise its flag on Thursday at 11:00 a.m.

The hospitals are asking the public to wear the Donate Life colors, blue and green, on April 22nd. The efforts are meant to show support to those waiting for a transplant and raise awareness about the importance of registering as an organ, eye and tissue donor.
