KEARNEY, NE — Four people from Wisconsin are facing charges after a traffic stop in central Nebraska.

The Kearney Police Department says officers stopped a car on Interstate-80 on Monday afternoon for following too closely.

During the stop, officers noticed suspicious activity and an open alcohol container inside the car.

A search turned up several duffel bags containing 64 pounds of marijuana and THC products.

All four occupants, Nicolas Esparaza, Rudy Vibbert, Tania Perez and Courtney Svara, all from Wisconsin, were arrested on several drug charges.

The Buffalo County Sheriff’s office helped in the investigation. The traffic stop was made near mile marker 274, directly between the two Kearney exits.
