Two cats die in McCook garage fire
Firefighters battled a blaze in a central Nebraska garage on Friday.

MCCOOK, Neb. -- Firefighters battled a blaze in a central Nebraska garage on Friday.
The McCook Fire Department responded to the scene on E. 3rd Street at approximately 12:00 p.m. and discovered heavy smoke.
The Fire Department told News Channel Nebraska that the cause of the fire was a space heater in the garage and the fire was under control in a couple of minutes.
No injuries were reported, but two cats died in the fire.
The Fire Department also said the damage to the structure is around $30,000 and $5,000 in content.
