NORFOLK - Lincoln East won its first two games of the season in impressive fashion after sweeping a double-header with Norfolk on Friday.

The Spartans jumped out to an early 8-0 lead after the first inning of game one, but only recorded two hits in the frame. Lincoln East would go on to score in every inning, including putting six on the board in the fifth, and three pitchers no-hit the Panthers in a 17-0 victory.

Lincoln East got out to another quick lead in game two, scoring six runs in the first inning to take a 6-0 lead. Norfolk scored its first run of either game in the bottom of the first, and added an additional run at the end of game two, but the Spartans ran away with a 16-2 victory in the second game to complete the sweep.

Lincoln East begins the season at 2-0, and will look to keep the momentum going against Lincoln Pius X on Monday. The Panthers are now 0-4 in the early season, and will try and rebound on the road against South Sioux City on Tuesday.
