Multiple accidents along Interstate 80 Sunday caused headaches for Nebraska travelers.

The Nebraska State Patrol says a jackknifed semi blocked the westbound lanes of I-80 at Wood River around 11:00 AM Sunday. Traffic was directed north to Highway 30 while crews worked to clean up the crash, will all lanes being reopened nearly an hour later.

Another accident around 12:00 PM caused eastbound lanes of the interstate to be closed near Ashland. Emergency crews worked quickly to clean up the crash, as all lanes were reopened around 1:00 PM.

No further details are known about the crashes at this time, and no injuries have been reported.

The National Weather Service says 11 inches of snow fell in Kearney and Broken Bow by Sunday morning and snow continued to fall across the area. A winter storm warning remained in effect for most of Nebraska through Sunday evening. 

The Nebraska Department of Transportation is advising travelers to plan ahead by checking Nebraska 511, avoid distractions, and slow down when driving on roads covered with snow or ice.
