HASTINGS, Neb. – Over the next two days more than 1,000 people from across the state are coming to the annual Flatwater Music Festival in Hastings.

"Our goal is to hit that, and then our stretch goal, a dream come true would be if we could 2,000 people out here, that would be phenomenal." said Prairie Loft Executive Director Megan Arrington-Williams.

Williams and dozens of staff and volunteers work to make the two-day event possible.

At the Prairie Loft Center, live music, food trucks, crafts, family friendly activities and more are available for anyone to come and enjoy.

Arrington-Williams says festival-goers can expect a little different layout this year.

"We've updated locations of things to get flow a little bit more across our property at Flatwater," said Williams. "People will really get to get out and explore, we've also updated our stage and updated that backdrop to change things up a little bit.

Live music of the bluegrass, folk and Americana variety will be featured in Hastings, as well as the String Beans, who are a kid-friendly band from Lincoln.

Gates open Friday night at 6 p.m. with activities running until 11 p.m. and Saturday runs from 3-11 p.m.
