HASTINGS, Neb. — A month-long ordeal involving the lazy river at the Hastings Aquacourt will soon reach a resolution.
The city says the popular feature will reopen on Friday. A news release says it started losing water on June 6 and has been closed since June 12. The lazy river was losing 20,000 gallons of water per day before it was closed, which is about 10 percent of the total water it holds.
The release says workers surveyed the feature’s pipes using pipe inspection cameras and found a significant hole. Crews have since replaced the damaged pipe. The pool is filled again and will need a couple of days to get its chemicals balanced.
The Hastings Utilities Water Department assisted Parks and Recreation staff with repairing the leak.
