GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — The attractions and schedule are set for the state’s most popular fly-in and air show in Grand Island.

The 2023 Nebraska State Fly-In and Air Show will take place on June 3 at the Central Nebraska Regional Airport in Grand Island. The air show will begin at 1:00 pm but gates will open at 9:00 am.

The air show will be featuring eight acts. Among those are the fast-flying acrobatics of Doug Roth, Brian Correll, Bob Freeman, Susan Day, Erik Edgren, Bob Richards, the vanguard Squadron and Jeff Shetterly.

According to organizers, the highlight of the event will be a B-29 Super Fortress. B-29’s were flown by the United States during World War II and the Korean War and were designed for high-altitude strategic bombing. B-29's are the only aircraft ever to drop nuclear weapons in combat.

At the event, visitors will be able to tour a Chinook Helicopter, view static aircraft displays, merchandise booths and food trucks.

The event is free but donations will be accepted.
