ELM CREEK, Neb. (KSNB) - A Union Pacific locomotive caught fire as it traveled eastbound to Chicago early Thursday morning.

According to the company, around 4:45 a.m. the second locomotive caught fire.

Buffalo County emergency services responded to the scene, and were able to put the fire out.

However, five gallons of diesel fuel did spill, causing a remediation clean up to be started.

The accident is under further investigation.
