Man from Holdrege sentenced for drug-related charge

HOLDREGE, Neb. -- A drug-related charge puts a Holdrege man in prison for 10 years.
Acting U.S. Attorney Steven A. Russell said 35-year-old Josiah Negley, of Holdrege, was sentenced in federal court in Omaha on Friday. Negley was charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine. He will serve 120 months in prison along with a five-year term of supervised release after. There is no parole in the federal system.
According to court documents, officers got a search warrant for a building in Kearney on March 30, 2019 and Negley was inside at the time. They took 117 grams of meth from him and his co-defendants admitted that they all went to Colorado to get pounds of meth to bring back to Kearney to sell.
Officials said co-defendant Rodney Randolph has pled guilty and is scheduled for sentencing on Dec. 21, 2022, and Nicole Peterson was sentenced to 120 months in prison with five years of supervised release.
This case was investigated by the Nebraska State Patrol and the Kearney Police Department.
