KEARNEY, NE — Two people are in jail after police raided a residence in Kearney.

Kearney Police say officers executed a search warrant Tuesday morning at a basement apartment in the 3400 block of F avenue. They also served a warrant at a storage unit.

Officers say they found three ounces of meth, prescription medications, marijuana, psychedelic mushrooms, paraphernalia and distribution items. They arrested 41-year-old Christopher Poley and 32-year-old Jessa Binder on multiple felony drug charges.

The Nebraska State Patrol and the Tri Cities Drug Enforcement Team (TRIDENT) assisted with the raid.

“This was an excellent job by the Criminal Investigations Bureau and TRIDENT Task Force to work as a team in the Kearney/Buffalo County area to help remove methamphetamine from the community and deter individuals from distributing controlled substances” Lt. Gabe Kowalek said in a news release.

The TRIDENT Drug Task Force consists of officers from the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Kearney Police Department, Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, Hall County Sheriff’s Office, Grand Island Police Department, Hastings Police Department, Adams County Sheriff’s Office, and the Nebraska State Patrol.
