HASTINGS, Neb. -- Hastings Planning Commission is recommending the town say 'no' to a proposed racetrack and casino.

The commission Tuesday evening voted four-to-three to recommend denying approval of the zoning change and conditional use permit needed for the proposed racesino on the city's north side.

The majority of those who spoke during a public hearing were against the proposed facility.

The planning commission's disapprovals are just a recommendation. The final decision comes down to the Hastings City Council later this month.
