Lincoln man dies in Thursday night Seward County crash

UPDATE: On Monday afternoon, the Seward County sheriff's office provided the name of the person who died in Thursday's accident.
The man was identified as Darrel Thompson, aged 50, of Lincoln. The collision was described as a "motor vehicle versus pedestrian accident" that claimed Thompson's life on Thursday night around 9:15. More information will be added to this story if it becomes available.
SEWARD COUNTY – One person is dead after they were hit by a vehicle just south of Pleasant Dale in Seward County on Thursday night.
The crash occurred around 9:15 p.m. Thursday, according to a Friday release from the Seward County Sheriff’s Office. Initial reports from the scene suggest the pedestrian was walking southbound on Highway 103 (154th Road) where they were struck by a vehicle near Pioneers Road, just two miles south of Pleasant Dale.
First responders including the Nebraska State Patrol and Pleasant Dale Fire and Rescue rendered medical aid on scene before the pedestrian was helicoptered to Bryan LGH West, where they were pronounced dead later on Thursday.
The names of the deceased or anyone else involved have not been released as of Friday afternoon, and the investigation is ongoing.
