Ivan E. Joynt
Holstein resident Ivan E. Joynt, 91, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at his home.
Services with military rites by A.L. Shirley Post #176 will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 26, at Merten Butler Mortuary in Blue Hill with Chaplain John Mueller officiating. A burial will be held at a later date at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell. The visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Ivan was born March 25, 1933, in Holstein, NE to Orville and Florence (Spicknall) Joynt. He graduated from Holstein High School in 1951. Ivan served in the U.S. Marines from February 1953-February 1955. He married Delores Faber on September 15, 1956. Ivan farmed in the area for many years. He was a member of the Holstein American Legion. Ivan and Delores loved and enjoyed camping and geocaching with friends for many years during retirement. Ivan was also a licensed Ham operator and enjoyed reaching out to contacts all over the world.
Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Florence Joynt; brothers and spouses, Orville and Lucille Joynt and Rolland & Nancy Faber.
