The 2023 Western Trails Conference basketball tournament gets underway Thursday, February 2nd at home sites. The Bridgeport Lady Bulldogs (15-0) are the top seed in the girl’s bracket while the Mustangs of Gordon-Rushville (10-3) earn the number one seed in the boy’s bracket. Bothe will receive a bye into the semifinals on Friday at Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff.

First round matchups in the girl’s bracket are #2 seed Gordon-Rushville (13-2) playing #7 seed Kimball (1-13) at 6:00 p.m. in Gordon, #3 seed Bayard (13-3) hosting #6 seed Hemingford (3-11) at 5:00 p.m. in Bayard, and #4 seed Mitchell 4-13 entertaining #5 seed Morrill (9-8) in Mitchell at 5:00 p.m.

Boys first round games will feature #7 seed Morrill (6-11) traveling to #2 seed Bridgeport (9-6) for a 6:30 p.m. game, #3 seed Bayard (8-8) hosting #6 seed Kimball (4-10) at 6:30 p.m., and #4 seed Mitchell (5-11) taking on #5 seed Hemingford (6-10) at 6:30 p.m. in Mitchell.

Semifinals and Consolation games will take place at WNCC’s Cougar Palace on Friday and Saturday in Scottsbluff.
