KEARNEY, Neb. — Nebraska Public Power District will replace an aging bridge over the Kearney Canal on Evergreen Road west of Kearney, starting next week.

The bridge is located about a quarter-mile north of Highway 30, and will be replaced with a large concrete box culvert designed to support all legal traffic loads.

During construction, traffic will be rerouted to Dove Hill Avenue, one mile east of Evergreen Road.

The project is expected to take roughly two months, with Evergreen Road reopening once work is complete.
