Lincoln Lutheran cruises past Conestoga on Homecoming
LINCOLN, Neb. - It was a happy Homecoming for Lincoln Lutheran on Thursday night in Lincoln, with the Warriors cruising past Conestoga 42-7 in Class C2 District 1 action.
Lincoln Lutheran took full control of the game as the first half progressed. Normally very adept in the passing game, the Warriors scored touchdowns on five straight possessions, all on the ground, to build a 35-0 halftime lead. Running back Henry Prokop scored four of those five touchdowns.
Quarterback Braxton Glines hit top target Koston Maul for a touchdown in the second half to put the finishing touches on the win for Lincoln Lutheran, and Conestoga avoided the shutout by scoring in the game's final minute on a 50-yard catch and run by Grant Tesarek. By that point, Lincoln Lutheran had the game well in hand, racing to a 42-7 win at home.
Up next the Warriors (2-4, 1-1 District 1) will face Palmyra at home, while the Cougars (0-6, 0-2) will return home to facd Bishop Neumann.
