GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- Police say a woman has been referred for child abuse in Grand Island. 

According to Grand Island Police, officers responded to a woman refusing to leave a house around 10:30 Friday night. When officers arrived, the woman was identified as Michaela Cassell.

Officials said that Cassell was confrontational with them and the person who had reported her. 

Officers inspected the home and went downstairs where they spoke with Cassell’s three children. Police said Cassell followed them and obstructed the investigation. She was then placed under arrest. 

Reports said the children told police that Cassell had hit their youngest sister multiple times with a closed and open fist. 

Cassell was arrested for obstructing an officer, negligent child abuse and commit child abuse intentional/no injury.
