Colorado woman sentenced for meth-related charge from Furnas County

ARAPAHOE, Neb. -- A Colorado woman was given nine years in prison for a meth-related charge out of Furnas County.
U.S. Attorney Steven Russell said 44-year-old Yadira Chavarria-Enriquez, of Colorado, was sentenced in federal court in Lincoln on Friday. She was charged for possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine. Chavarria-Enriquez will serve 108 months in prison with a four-year term of supervised release after. There is no parole in the federal system. She will also forfeit $26,008 in U.S. currency to the United States.
According to court documents, Chavarria-Enriquez was stopped for a traffic violation in Furnas County on March 18, 2022. Officers searched the vehicle and found 1.3 kilograms of meth and $26,008 in U.S. currency.
