NELIGH, Neb. – As election day arrives, a group of farmers in northeast Nebraska is expressing support for abortion rights.

With the help of an artist and an etcher, the farmers disced a giant 33-acre crop art image depicting a woman on a rearing horse surrounded by the words “Vote Freedom”, with the woman’s symbol serving as the “o” in freedom.

The group said in a Facebook message titled “a message from women farmers of the Heartland” that the crop art message “calls for voters to make Women’s Freedom their top priority in the mid-term elections.”

The artist for the project was John Quigley, and the etcher was Art Tanderup.
