GIBBON, NE — Katy Boldt couldn’t miss and South Platte couldn’t solve the Sterling press on Friday night in Gibbon. That recipe helped the Jets to a dominating 65-33 district final win.

The two teams traded blows for the first quarter with Sterling carrying a three-point edge heading to the second. That’s when the full-court press started to wreak havoc. On the strength of transition points, the Jets built a 34-17 halftime lead.

The three-ball put the game away in the second half for Sterling. Boldt made five triples in the fourth quarter and nine in the game to tally a game-high 29 points. Sterling hit 11 three-pointers in the game.

The Jets are going to the State Tournament for the fourth season in a row. Prior to the streak, Sterling had only been to State four times in program history.
