LINCOLN, Neb. – A fight involving approximately 20 people ended with Lincoln Police locating a stolen vehicle.

At approximately 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, police were called to the 300 block of N. 27th Street for a large fight. While on the way to the scene, officers discovered that two vehicles involved in the fight were stolen, based on descriptions of the license plates by the reporting caller.

Upon officers’ arrival, the fight’s participants fled. Officers stopped one of the fleeing parties, a 16-year-old girl, and determined that she was in possession of the stolen vehicle and a backpack full of stolen clothing from various stores.

The car had been stolen on Halloween night when the owner left it running while going into a business. The vehicle was valued at $2,500.

The 16-year-old girl was referred for Theft by Receiving Stolen Property and released to a parent.
