NORFOLK -- Johnny Carson's vintage 1939 Chrysler Royal car - a highlight of the Elkhorn Valley Museum's Johnny Carson exhibit - is departing Norfolk, Wednesday.

Board member Austen Hagood said they're shipping the car back to Jay Leno himself. It's been on display for about three months. So how exactly are they moving it?

"The power of prayer," Hagood laughed. In fact, they'll move other artifacts out of the exhibit room and then drive the car outside. 

Hagood said making sure the car will start has been anxiety-inducing. A crew for Leno is expected to arrive later Wednesday morning.

"It's nerve-wracking to have something like this," Hagood noted.
