SIDNEY, Neb. — A daycare in the panhandle is temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 virus.

Here Wee Grow in Sidney will be closed until Tuesday, August 3, according to Panhandle Public Health (PPHD). In a letter sent from PPHD to parents on Monday health officials said multiple COVID exposures caused the closure. Health officials say the two weeks will allow for quarantine time for students and staff.

When contacted for comment, Here Wee Grow said they consulted with PPHD and are following their guidance.

PPHD data says 17 people in Cheyenne County tested positive for the virus from July 12-19. It is unknown how many are connected to the daycare.
