CHADRON, Neb. (KNEP) - With Memorial Day and summer just around the corner Chadron Police Department issuing in advance the Click It or Ticket Campaign.

Chadron Police said three out of ten occupants do not buckle up each and every trip. This is part of the National Seatbelt Campaign which will happen between May 24 and June 6. Chadron Police Department will partake in a Border to Border program. It’s aim is to create high visible seatbelt enforcement at state border checkpoints.

In a 2020 study the National Department of Transportation Highway Safety office said Nebraska has the fourth worst observed seat belt usage in the United States.

Chadron Police said law enforcement will be taking no excuses for the lack of wearing a seatbelt.
