Hickstein named to All-RMAC team

Chadron State College sophomore golfer Alpine Hickstein, of Chadron, was named one of eight women’s golfers awarded All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Second Team, in a release Thursday at RMACSports.org.
All-RMAC First and Second Teams were determined by the regional Golfstat.com rankings following the RMAC Golf Championships. Hickstein ranked No. 11 in the league, and No. 65 within the NCAA West Region, which includes 44 teams from the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, the California Collegiate Athletic Association, the PacWest Conference, the Lone Star Conference, and the RMAC.
Hickstein finished 2020-21 with a yearly stroke average of 78.8, just shy of her 78.6 in 2019-20. She had two tournament wins, and three other top-10 finishes, mostly against league opponents. Hickstein set new school records for individual round and individual tournament scores with 70 and 150-stroke performances last month in Pueblo, Colorado.
Colorado Christian University’s Faith Kilgore was named the RMAC Women’s Golfer of the Year, ranking 12th in the region. Whitney Banz of Westminster was the second-ranked RMAC golfer, and No. 22 regionally, earning Freshman of the Year. Westminster’s head coach, Denise Larson, was named Coach of the Year.
